Marcos Zoya Barista trainer and Consultant: what do users think?

Niall Bingham: I completed the intermediate course:Marcos is well organised, patient and most importantly very knowledgeable. His passion for all things coffee related makes his course very enjoyable and highly recommended!

Cristina Pontijas: Marcos is super professional: methodic, punctual and easy-going. He makes every thing easy to understand. Working with him is just so easy and fun, thanks Marcos! :D

Romina Romano: One of a kind professional with a contagious passion for what he does. He’s resourceful and full of endless knowledge about coffee.

Jose Pérez: Whether you want to prepare yourself for work in the world of coffee, or if you want to improve your coffees at home, Marcos Zoya is your best option for training. A world eminence that transmits its love for coffee, for the preparation processes and for the world of specialty coffee. Don't hesitate anymore!!
Response: ❤️❤️❤️

Carloman Castaño Pavas: Excellent professional and better person, very dedicated and conscientious in the training he provides. No matter what level you have, Marcos will know how to guide you to this wonderful world. Always grateful.

Il Cappuccino: A great professional. I have had the good fortune to meet him and have a consultancy. Humble, available and prepared. If you want to receive a service of 10, if you really want to learn, if you want to answer your questions, Marcos is one of the people in the Barista world who can help you the most. Theory and practice are mixed at the same time, so that you can perfectly understand what you are doing. It is not easy to teach and, from personal experience, I assure you that not everyone is good at it. Well, Marcos is one of these people, who 100% meets the teaching and expectations and, once he finishes, you are left with the feeling that the money has been well invested and with the desire to continue with his course (and believe me This is not easy, especially in the professional world). Do not hesitate, if you want to know more about this wonderful world of coffee, Marcos will open all his doors for you in an unforgettable way...

Alexis D. Núñez Camarillo: It takes passion, empathy and intelligence to translate the language of coffee, and Marcos has it all. In addition to being a person who naturally transmits what he knows in an assertive and fun way, he knows a great deal about the technical and cultural issues that make up the world of the kind seed. I highly recommend considering training with him :)

A GV: Marcos is like a walking encyclopedia of coffee content that, moreover, is delighted to share it with his students in the most educational and entertaining way that exists. Having decided to train at the SCA through him has been an excellent decision and one that I cannot possibly regret in the least. He is a great trainer with a lot of interest in his students leaving the courses with the maximum possible acquired knowledge and without any doubts about them. In addition, it has the best possible material for the practical part, so you ensure that you will have the most realistic experience possible of what it is like to work within the industry. 100% recommended.

Héctor Pascual Arto: Obtained the SCA Intermediate Skill Barista certification with Marcos Zoya, I have not met any other teacher (in all the areas I have studied including engineering teachers) who is so passionate and knows everything he teaches like him. A truly unforgettable experience and one that I will repeat in upcoming specialty coffee formations.

Nacho Avila: I recommend Marcos as a teacher. My experience in the Barista Skills intermediate course was very good. Marcos is passionate about coffee and it shows in his teaching. It has good facilities and machinery for courses.

Hola Coffee Academy: what do users think?

tjc 88: I did the Sensory/cupping course with Javier a few days ago and it was seriously an amazing experience. He was super knowledgeable, friendly and easy going. The course was interactive, had a lot of experiments and exercises, Javier was able to answer all our questions and overall was a very comprehensive experience. I highly recommend Hola Coffee courses and of course their coffees that are delicious.

Maider Díez: Hola Coffee classroom and training center where different courses and workshops are taught around the world of coffee. I have come to do the latte art and tasting workshops and they are three fantastic hours of theory and a lot of practice that are well worth it! Javier is amazing and you can see his great knowledge and passion for the world of coffee and everything was great, he is a great teacher and he makes the class very dynamic and you learn a lot! Both workshops highly recommended. The center is divided into a classroom and a practice area with the espresso machines, with lots of light and very welcoming.

Miriam GM: Experience: Coffee Fanatic A really interesting coffee experience. A course in which Javi left us surprised and with a good taste in our mouths, never better said. It shows his training and above all that he loves what he does. I really enjoyed it, I learned and I recognize that it was a pleasant surprise for me, now I know that I can value and appreciate coffee a little more. I will continue learning, and I recommend this type of course to all coffee lovers because it is really worth it. Now I just want to buy a V60 to make a good specialty coffee at just the right point.

Antonela Lamberti: We have spent 3 and a half hours with Ezequiel, my husband, together with Javi who explained to us in detail everything related to the world of coffee, how to prepare coffee according to the extraction method / coffee makers and tasting. Highly recommended for coffee lovers!

Wendy: Super Latte Art workshop!!! Valentina explains very well and has great patience, thanks to her I have managed to make my first decent lampshade! If there is something inconvenient to point out, I would say that I was very sorry for the amount of milk we had to waste, if it could be possible it would be nice to find a more ecological alternative to avoid that :)

Javier Rodríguez: Wonderful course by Coffee Fanatic to start knowing all the secrets behind the world of coffee. Edu was a fantastic teacher and explained general details about extraction methods, cultivation, tasting, ... Very complete.

Marina Vázquez: We did the filter coffee course with Javier Ghersi a few weeks ago and it was fantastic. It is a very instructive course: I recommend it 100% for, if you like specialty coffee and you prepare your filters at home but you think you lack a bit of foundation, to go a little deeper into this method. You learn a lot, with a part of theory that was not heavy at all and a lot of practice! Javier is a great teacher, very nice and it shows that he knows and is passionate about what he does. P.S. Advice: do not drink coffee before going, the dose that is taken in this course already counts for two days :D

Lucía Urpianello: Super recommended. I attended the Coffee Fanatic workshop with Valentina and I couldn't be happier. Attending the workshop marked a before and after. Valentina has great knowledge and a very nice way of transmitting it. I recommend it without any doubt!

Jaime Cayetano García De Lucas: Coffee experience That's what the course is called, and exactly what it is. A fun, fun, practical and entertaining way to learn about the world of specialty coffee, and the most used ways of preparing it. I will repeat with some of the other formations that they have, and with the range of coffees that they roast and distribute. Highly recommended for all coffee lovers.

Jorge Cuenca: Filter coffee course highly recommended to lay a good foundation on which to continue learning and practicing. Instructor very competent and open to answer questions.

Alin Bucata: Almost a month ago I attended a basic Barista course and I can say that I loved it, I really liked how entertaining and dynamic it is to teach both the theoretical and practical classes and how much I learned with them in such a short time. They are super professionals and have all kinds of courses. 100% recommended
Response: Thank you very much, we are glad to have students who want to learn about the science of good coffee! Thanks for your recommendation!

Response: Thank you very much and many successes!

MARIA DEL MAR FERNANDEZ GARCIA: The classes are very enjoyable and very interesting. The module that has surprised me the most so far is sensory and tasting, where flavors are discovered in coffee that I could not imagine, such as chocolate, vanilla, nuts. etc...I'm looking forward to starting the next module. .
Response: Thank you! Until the next modules full of surprises and learned in the science of coffee. ☕🙏

European Bartender School: what do users think?

James Hiii: Would recommend to everyone! I had the best experience ever doing this during my gap year. I also met amazing people and made lifelong friends!

Birk Alison Öhrlund: I have only been studying my first week out of my international bartender course in Madrid - it’s my first time in Spain and it’s super intense, but still so fun that it feels like vacation. The teacher is amazing and I feel that I really want to do my absolute best since I’m encouraged to it.
Response: Thank you for you review, Isabell! It's great to hear that you're having fun and learning so much!

Ingvild T: My 4 weeks with EBS Madrid were just overwhelming, and a real life changer! First of all, the team is super professional and had me going from a beginner to feeling like a top pro behind the bar. Haha, I remember how stupid and clumsy I felt the first week, now I can make 72 different cocktails (pluss more that I've learned later), and with free pouring and all the other working techniques I finish them in no time. No spill, elegant presentation (I always do my little napkin twist and hand-stall, impresses everyone haha), and perfect balance. When I got home to Norway I got multiple job offers, and started working as a bartender only 2 weeks after I finished the course. I completely fell in love with the Spanish culture, and so my dream came true when I got to come back and continue my career here in Barcelona! A big thanks to EBS Madrid and the the 2017 February class <3<3
Response: Thanks for your review Ingvild!

giroud gaelle: The school is not too big nor too small... Just the perfect size.20mins from the hostel, right in the city center.Really, this place is great and we learn in good conditions.
Response: Thanks for your review, Giroud! It's great to hear about your time with EBS!

Lev Hijstek: One of the best adventures I’ve done, amazing school with great teachers!
Response: Hi Lev, thanks a lot for your review! We are happy to see that you had a great experience with our instructors and we hope that you 'll be able to put your new skills into practice as soon as possible :)

Ксения Палагина: An amazing experience which not only improves your professional skills but makes you fall in love with bartendering.
Response: Thanks for your review! We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your time with EBS!

Sarah Anderson: I am half way through my second week and I am loving every moment of it.
Response: Hi Sarah! So happy to hear that you are enjoying your EBS experience. Keep up the hard work, spirit and soul!

Daryl Antonio González del Llano: Very good experience, intensive course where you introduce them to the world of cocktails. First class teaching and instructors willing to bring out the best in you.

javirider_r6: One of the best experiences I have had. It was a very intense but very productive month. I met fabulous people and excellent teachers, both professionally and personally. thanks for everything (Ramiro, sergi and Gian lucca) nice😁 I hope to see you again and continue learning.👍

Andrea Avilés Rodríguez: The experience is incredible, the first days you go into shock, a lot of pressure that is necessary to do this course, you come out 110% prepared, you need to do your best because if you don't like this job it is better not to waste your time. The instructors help you at all times, if you block yourself, calmly breathe, and gain strength. The moment of graduation you release a kind of joy that is incomparable to nothing. Highly recommended

Hola Coffee Roastery: what do users think?

Carpe-Diem .Today: The basic barista course is highly recommended. Super complete, they give you theory applying it with tastings, different techniques, you learn how to prepare a delicious coffee. Javier, who taught us the course, was able to convey his passion to us. It was an experience

ithan gibla: I did a filtering workshop a couple of days ago and I left very happy. The course was given to me by Javier Ghersi, a very attentive coffee professional. He worked very hard and it shows that he is passionate about training people interested in this world, apart from being a super cool and nice guy. It was super complete, they gave me an introduction to specialty coffee, going through the different variants, history, etc... Then we move on to variables and filtering theory. There was also a practical part where we made several V60s, Kalitas and some French Presses. Apart from all this, the place is super and it is incredible to be able to be in a coffee roaster like this. A highly recommended experience. If I take another course or train as a barista, it will probably be with Hola. :)

jorge perez: My girl gave me the coffee tasting course and I loved it. I learned a lot about coffee and the art of cupping in general. I didn't have any prior knowledge, only that I'm a coffee fanatic, but I found out everything and learned a lot. It is also quite cool to see the place where they roast their coffees. I recommend it.

Wendy: The course is super productive, very well structured, combining theory and practice, thanks Javi for such a dynamic and fun class! I will repeat another session of Latte Art!

Juanjo Perez: Today I attended the Course / Experience: Coffee Fanatic, 3 extra hours in which the instructor Javier knows how to transmit his passion for the incredible and exciting world of coffee and makes time fly. The theory makes you understand many things that later, together with the practice of making the same coffee with different preparation methods, gives you the opportunity to notice subtle differences between preparations of different people using the same coffee and the same method or between different methods. It is truly an experience both for beginners in this art and for people who think they already know how to make a good coffee. And by the way I have prepared an Espresso from Honduras that was incredible and in a Marzocco, filter coffees in V60, Clever Dripper and Aeropress, I learned how to do a complete coffee tasting…. 100% recommendable.

Javier (jaboban): We were on Saturday in a course in an Experience: Coffee Fanatic and the truth is that we could not leave more happy with the training and the good work of Javi. It is truly worth learning about specialty coffee and its extraction methods and fully immerse yourself in a tasting process. I recommend it to all coffee lovers.

Sheila Martín Sánchez: Three days ago I was at the Roastery doing a course with Javier. It was a surprise gift for my birthday and, without a doubt, it was a success. If you are a fan of specialty coffee, you leave there being even more so and wanting to do new courses. I loved sharing the experience as a small group, with only three other attendees, and with Javier guiding us and transmitting his passion for a world in which there is so much to discover. I'll be back for a new class, for sure :)

Javier Perez: I have done the Barista Foundation course and it seemed very complete. You learn a lot and the attention is very personalized. Learning at this level from people with specialty coffee experience is a luxury. I would recommend it to everyone who wants to start being a barista and is considering it to work in a cafeteria or, as is my case, to open one of their own. If I have to make a problem, it is that we drank so much coffee that I couldn't sleep that night!

abel rodriguez: Excellent Latte Art course combining theory and practice! Charming Javier, and the possibility of practicing until he achieves unimaginable designs. Thank you very much for the experience. Also to Valentina for her help and advice.

jaime bisbal: Very complete course. Javi a great trainer.

ACID Café: what do users think?

Adam Bočev: Our every morning started here. Delicious Ethiopian batch brew with crispy still warm pastry. You feel so good you almost don’t want to leave but so energised you want to go explore. But you’ll return the next day. This cafe has more to offer.

André Eiermann: A beautiful specialty coffee shop in the center of Madrid. The filter coffee and the flat white were both very tasty. We also got a bread to take home, another delicious treat. The interior design is very minimalistic and super cool. It was an amazing experience for specialty coffee lovers, coffee lovers, and just normal visitors: absolutely worth a visit.

Alice L.: Nice place with chill atmosphere. Coffee is great, their pastry looks really good too. I took the granola bowl and even if it looks like a small portion, it was pretty much OK for the whole morning.Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Atmosphere: 5/5 …More

Mayoya Riofrío: I’ve been there three times and all were good. Not great, but good. The pastries are what I recommend going for because the coffee is honestly not worth the price and the chai isn’t strong enough. Having said that, the tea is really good (while on the pricier side as well) and it is nice to sit there for a while. Music is loud on the back room so don’t sit there on a group since it’s hard to hear each other. If you go, the cinnamon roll and cardamom pastry are a must try!

D: Lovely cafe. I loved the modern decor with the unfinished walls. And it wasn’t as small as I expected. Although the Turkish eggs were lacking garlic in the yoghurt, they were delicious. The coffee was good but I’ve had better. And lastly, the kimchi was delicious.

Maayan Zimmerman: We had two lovely breakfasts in Acid café. It’s elegant and chic, and they provide fresh food for considerable prices. We enjoyed the iced and the hot mathca latte, and their pastries. As for the sandwiches: the mortadella was very good and the vegan chutney didn’t live up to our expectations. Overall, a very good place to start your day with or work on your computer.

N. Goldberg: I really enjoyed this cafe! The kardamom bullar was delicious and not dry at all and I liked the iced chai as well. The other pastries look stupendous so I want to try them as well. I would say it’s in the normal price range for a café in Madrid. The quality is good so I find the prices reasonable (the sandwiches are expensive though). They don’t have a very large menu with many options but I feel like you don’t need much more in a café. You have salty and sweet options so it’s enough. It’s not cozy, it’s more modern and minimalistic. Very simple design and doesn’t seat a large amount of people but there’s a room designated for people who want to work on their laptops with plugs which was great. They also have WIFI. What I didn’t like was the music in the “working room” because it was too loud and made it hard to work.

ingrid oliveira: i’ve been to this cafe many times because it’s the perfect environment for me to get work done while also enjoying a warm latte and a good sandwich. its not too big inside but it’s very nice and quaint. i totally recommend!

Sherif Yacoub: We went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The bakery was really tasty. We had croissant, a sweet bread with cardamom, and tosta de tomate. All were excellent. The croissant is plain and not sweet, many other places in Spain add a lot of sugar or glaze on top but this one was the real ones with just butter and very crispy. We loved the cardamom bread scone. The tomato toast was fresh and delicious. The coffee itself was not to our liking. It had a bit of after taste that is bitter. The setup is really nice. It reminded me of Seattle coffee shops. The service was also good and the waiter explained each bread and bakery and what is had.

Eliezer Egert: Great coffee shop, have a nice variety of amazing coffee. Staff is very friendly and helpful (they speak English!).Visited on a weekend, there was a nice vibe with good music.Note there no laptops on weekends policy

FELIZ COFFEE Specialty Coffee: what do users think?

Pen Pencil: Excellent coffee, cozy atmosphere, owner is friendly. I came here once to try out a specialty place while I was in Madrid, and I had to come back the next day it was that good. It's just a really nice place that serves amazing coffee, definitely stop by if you're in the area.

Jonathan Aizen: This little spot has delicious craft coffee, but what makes it special is the owner. He’s one of the nicest guys in town and will make you feel welcome from the moment you step in. He never forgets a face and you can see that the neighborhood loves him. Come for the coffee and the good vibes.
Response: What a beautiful review! thank you so so much for writing this. It was a pleasure to see you again in our new store. Thank you! Good people, you!

Mundo Viagem: Great friendly service despite the busy morning! Good cozy ambiance. Music was good but was too loud for a relaxing morning. Hopefully they can adjust to a better level

Mei hui: No frills mainly for takeaways although there are some benches inside and outside if you would like to sip on your beverage or have some simple bakes. Love the aesthetics of the small storefront, there’s a soufflé pancake opposite and another highly rated cafe few steps away.

Grace Shin: Our barista was so welcoming and friendly! He asked us how we liked our coffee and he did GREAT. His cappuccino art skills are on point. We walked about 20 mins from our hotel bc of all the reviews and we’re so glad we did! The shop is small with a bench inside and outside. It’s very cute and all their merch is presented well.
Response: We really appreciate you going out of your way to visit us and we’re happy to hear that you enjoyed your experience with Roman. Please be sure to stop by our new location just a few minutes from the to go shop at c/ Ventura de la vega, 22...thanks so much!!!

Sherry Stern: This sweet spot already has well deserved raves but I wanted to add my own. Appreciate the extensive coffee menu and baked goods. And friendly service to boot. If it weren’t my last day in Madrid I would go back tomorrow

Cristi Zuniga: What an amazing find! The coffee is great, Zeis was lovely and Diana as well. so relaxing and enjoyable, pastries are delicious too! Will come again and again!

Amir Teig: Great coffee. Great pastries. Great atmosphere. Great service. Thank you Zeis!

Peng Tang: There are lot of coffee shops in Madrid but mainly tapas is their focus and coffee is secondary. It's hard to find (maybe I don't know) a pure cafe in Madrid. Feliz coffee is one and it's a great cafe. Check it out if you're somewhere near Plaza Mayor. Detailed IG at Peng.cafe

Danila Massara: Small independent coffee shop. I can tell there’s good intentions behind it, The girl at the counter weighted the coffee grounds etc… but the result was mediocre. Very watery and sour tasting espresso (da italiana: il caffè non si fa così)

Toma Café 1: what do users think?

Sharayu Bhosale: Was always waiting to go to this place. Have always heard such good reviews about this place. Now I know why. Such a cute little cafe around. Coffee was very good. The muffin we tried was very different and delicious. (Though i don’t remember the name) Vibes of the place are very good. Unfortunately, we reached 20 minutes before their closing time so couldn’t spend much time. But luckily we had the chance to bless ourselves with their coffee. Definitely going back.

Xabier Granja: Fantastic little coffee shop. They have the establishment divided in 2 areas - one where you’re not supposed to used your laptop for work+coffee that is set so people can actually have conversations, and the other area where you’re encouraged to get work done with your drink and/or food. Staff are super friendly, coffee is great quality, their avocado toast and bizcochos are some of the best I’ve had, and the atmosphere in this place is simply cozy and wonderful. Been twice here already in my week-long stay in Madrid, and I’ll likely come back again. Love it.

Dhoha Rashed Alshalawi: One of my favorite coffee shop that it has special coffee in Madrid. I am so lucky to live close to it. The staff is amicable. I love having breakfast there, my favorite is avocado toast, and you should order it with less toasted bread. The avocado service with the kind of sea salt and Limon. You should try the coffee with orange milk. I actually forget its name. They were serving these kinds of sweet and browny, but not anymore. The vibe in the place is such cozy and youthful energy. In this hot summer, they have a fan to cool the place. No AC If you don´t like warm weather! The chairs are not comfortable. So, it is not the place where you sit for a long time.

Judah Joseph: Beautiful space, high quality specialty coffee, and a wonderful selection of toasts. I went for the poached egg option, with cheese, butter, and walnuts. A well-rounded breakfast with tons of flavor and a delicious, complex cafe con leche to kick off the day.

うんじEUNJI NAM: Free wifi :) Dog friendly! You can work with your laptop as well ( it depends of seats! )They offer free water. The staff can speak English and friendly, helpful!Lovely coffee and food as well!

Tony Brown: Return visit to Toma after discovering the place on our visit 4 years ago, and it's still one of the best in Madrid. Easygoing atmosphere, great coffee, serious baristering, and a dedicated area to sit and enjoy and not be surrounded by people with their heads stuck in a laptop. A bit wider choice of pastry would be a plus.

Lilly C: Best coffee I’ve ever had in my life! If you come to Madrid you must come here and try all the different coffees. Iced coffee is the best one I’ve ever had. Cappuccino/ Lattes and espresso are all great. pan con tómate is simple and delicious!

C Poler: Cool place. Coffee is always perfectly made. Cakes are delicious, so are breakfast toast. Lowkey place but definitely the best coffee in Madrid.

Ariel Borges-Duanes: First time having breakfast in Madrid after a very long flight. Really liked the background music, great avocado toast and coffee, and overall nice atmosphere.

Josipa Galic: The coolest bar in Madrid (so far). It is a great place for work, coffee is great and avocado toast is super delicious. Interior and music are also top. I’m so happy that I discovered Toma Cafe. :)

Monkee Koffee: what do users think?

María López Santamaría: Great coffee , laptop friendly (only at the middle long table) and air conditioning on these hot days of summer. One of my favorite places for coffee, breakfast, sandwiches or salad in the neighborhood. I tried my new favorite smoothie: pinapple , coconut milk, spinach and ginger. And a dark chocolate sponge cake. Which was not too sweet - perfect. 100% recommend !

Meryl Sch: The coffee is good and the presentation is really nice (had a cappucino). I also got a Avocado toast. Again, delicious, well served. The girl is really friendly and she does her best to answer to the customer demand. I like the fact that there is tables to work and other tables booked just to drink coffee or eat. I want also to point the fact that there is enough plugs! Atmosphere is nice and quiet. Perfect to work. Love it and definitely recommend it

Bora Kim: Lovely café with cozy and chill vibes and nice interior. They have a lot of tea options (I ordered Pai Mu Tan!) and staffs were very helpful. You can use your laptop on the long table located in the middle of the café. It also has cozy sofas! Must visit :)

H S: Super cool space-Gorgeous artistic space. Coffee was really nice and the flavor was rich. Carrot cake was done right and the cinnamon roll was also great!! Friendly and efficient staff as well. Situated in a beautiful neighborhood as well.

Patrick B.: Excellent coffee shop, really good specialty coffee and great food, all homemade pastries and a selection of breakfast toasts and yogurt bowls. Great place to relax and read a book, have a chat with friends or work. Really friendly staff with a lot of attention to detail. One of the best in Madrid.

Kayla Tatman: Love this coffee shop! Coffee is very good and the atmosphere is very cozy and warm. Lots of space to either do work or socialize.

Rennoib Tg: The place it's nice, staff is OK and they serve good coffee. I came here to work half day, but if this place before was great for it, now not. The password and user that they give you aren't correct. If you are trying to connect a computer with Windows is impossible and at much, they allow you 45 minutes only. So if you want a place for good coffee without Internet, is the place. For work, study or anything else, don't visit it. Prices are about 2-3 each coffee. Toasties, cakes pieces and others things cost about 5-6 per unit.

Behzad Borhan: Good filter coffee. There is social table (without plug-in) for those who are coming to work.

Miguel Artola: The Monkee Koffee has just reopened after more than a year been closed. The coffee, cakes and sandwiches are excellent. The staff is super friendly and they play a wonderful music. This is one the best places to spend an afternoon in Madrid
Response: Thanks Miguel for your kind review! We loved having you both in our small coffee corner. Hope we can see you soon again. Thanks!!

Emma: Update: After talking with a barista I learned that people used to spend hours at cafés with only one order which is obviously not very good business. Having spent more time in Madrid now and seeing how overcrowded cafés can get; I absolutely understand the limited wifi...though it’d be nice if it were a bit longer. Nice place. Nice staff. The orange/white choco cookie I had was a bit too sweet for my taste, but still very good and big. Note: no nut milks, but lactose-free milk. Wifi is only good for 45 minutes and then you have to buy more stuff if you want more time.
Response: Hi aimee Thank you for your comment. In the coffee shop we offer the wifi service as an added value. Please understand that we have to have a way to control the space, it is a small place and we try to offer seats for everyone. Thanks again.

Cafés Tornasol | Specialty Coffee Madrid: what do users think?

Michael Barton: You'll probably find most reviews speaking about the coffee and how good it is. I'd like to talk about the sandwiches. They're really very good! I had the Cuban which I didn't much from but was then hit with a wonderful flavor blast. The ingredients tasted as well balanced and fresh as any major sandwich so this cafe is punching way above its expected weight class. I'd happily return as it was my favorite stall in this market.

maria eugenia Spinelli: Excellent service. Great coffee and even better food. It’s incredible how much magic can be done is such a small kitchen. Recommend specially for rainy or cold days. In the middle of the market and away from the busyness of the city. We had the most perfect Benedict eggs ever!

Baiba Krauze: What an excellent place to have coffee! I was attended with such attention, I felt like a very well taken care of customer. The coffees on offer are absolutely delicious - each sip can be enjoyed, full of flavor, every note can be tasted, a rare find these days, where many micro roasters have excessively acidic and overpriced coffees, so different origins can not even be distinguished. Not in this place, they prepare it perfectly and have selected some of the best coffee roasters I have tried. And the customer attention is as good, congratulations and will return there for sure.

The Tempest Diaries: Small yet comfortable brunch cafe with amazing coffee(I liked it so much I ordered 2) and the Spanish omelette with their own local bread is a filling meal in itself. Do try the chocolate coffee cake and banana bread! The staff is kind and prompt.

Henry Qi: Stumbled upon this place. We got here around 11am on a Monday. It seems like most of the Mercado Antón Martin shops have not yet open. We ordered espresso martini, espresso and a Jamón sandwich. The sandwich had olive oil with toasted bread. It was delicious. The service was great and they have free Wifi!

Carla Griggio: Don't miss out on the batch brew! It's top quality specialty coffee for just 2 euros! I also tried an espresso from Ethiopia that was minblowingly tasteful. For sure one of the best coffee places in Madrid!

Gui Grigoletti: Incredible place hidden in a local market. The coffee was exquisite and we order a perfect Banofe pie. The service also was perfect.

A M: Que guay! The breakfast is incredible! Really good and worth the money. Owner and waiter are very friendly and want to give you a good time. Coffee is very good and from Peru. The place is inside of Mercado Anton Martin downstairs.

Andres Kao: Loved the food and the personnel were very friendly. Felt compelled to give tip. You can tell they put work on their food (caught the cook making the Cuban roll and taking pictures of it) and for so cheap too.

Irina Bors: This was the perfect tortilla de patatas, with the perfect soft middle and fresh delicious bread. The service was friendly and kind.

Cassidy San Filippo: I would come here everyday if I could! The food and drinks are made with such care and diligence. Ricky, the owner, is a super friendly guy who knows what he’s doing. I recommend the dirty chai latte with oat milk and a bagel. I’ve had a difficult time finding a good breakfast bagel in Madrid and Unfiltered has far exceeded my expectations. I am vegan and have had such an easy time finding items that are suitable for my diet here. 10/10 recommend.

Inés Gómez: Cozy little cafe in Malasaña. They have delicious speciality coffee and a great barista. I recommend the honey latte with oat milk, it’s made with local artisan honey. They have a small but very good selection of food. I totally recommend the granola bowl or the avocado toast, which are delicious! I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I’ve come here repeatedly when I was in the area and wanted to get some work done or have a chill coffee and a bite with a friend. The owner is very kind and welcoming!

Great atmosphere for hanging out with friends or sitting alone to do work or study. Highly recommend if you’re in Madrid!!! Also Ricky is the best. Super friendly and great service. I’m going to miss it when I leave :(

Santiago Bedoya: Amazing specialty coffee shop, such a cool space and vibe. Ricky, the owner/barista is really knowledgeable and the espresso is amazing. I had a flat white and cortado; both were delicious. My girlfriend had the match and really enjoyed it.

TANDEM: what do users think?

Alice Z: Tandem is an amazing school with so much to offer! I studied abroad here and absolutely loved it. The classes are well organized and interesting. I have grown so much and my grammar has improved drastically. I also took a history and current events class which I loved and every week there was always something new to look forward to. My professors were always willing to help with any problem and were so friendly! 10/10
Response: Dear Alice, thank you very much for your words. We are very happy that you have completed your academic semester with an internship at TANDEM for Lander University. You have done a great job in classes and internships, and I am sure that this experience will be an element of motivation and progress in your academic and personal career. Goodbye!

Joseph P: After researching many options for Spanish school for myself and my daughter in Madrid I settled on TANDEM as they were very responsive and patiently answered all questions in advance. The school is in a lovely traditional building close to the metro and also walking distance to the main shopping district. The staff are all very welcoming and everyone gets personal attention. Class groups are small and there is a nice meet and greet on Monday morning in the school courtyard. The teachers are very engaged and no one is left behind. They also organise afternoon excursions for kids and adults on a daily opt in/out basis. I could not recommend this school enough and hope to return another time.
Response: Thank you so much for your words, Joseph, and for choosing TANDEM Madrid! This means a lot for us! BEST regards.

kevin sawyer: My wife and I spent a week at Tandem in March (2022). We had individual classes. Two 90 minute private sessions each day. Just talking and reviewing. We are at the intermediate level. This was our fifth time at Tandem. We plan to return in November. We really enjoy the school, the teachers, and the location. It has been a very good experience.
Response: Thank you very much Kevin. It is always a pleasure to receive you and your wife at TANDEM Madrid. Looking forward to welcoming you again. A hug.

Anastasiia Mozolevska: The school is very good. Provided a free course of basic Spanish for Ukrainians. We are very grateful to you. We had a wonderful teacher👍Thank you very much ❤️
Response: Thank you very much, it has been a wonderful experience for TANDEM and for the volunteer teachers who have given the courses. We wish you all the best!

Marisa Mondragon-Jones: My family was hoping to practice Spanish on our trip to Madrid. TANDEM created an amazing program for us to give us an opportunity to learn Spanish and learn about Madrid. We had a 1 week course with 1 hr in the class room then guided excursions in the city. The teachers, guides and coordinators were all so helpful and kind! My spouse, children and I have different language levels but we all learned so much and were able to have this incredible experience together! Thank you, TANDEM!
Response: Dear Marisa, thank you so much for choosing TANDEM for your "adventures" in Madrid with your family! It was a big pleasure to know you. Please, consider TANDEM your home for your next experiences in Spain! Best regards

Yves Dufour: Tandem strikes the right balance between a large and a small language school. All the teachers I had were excellent. They knew how to make learning a language fun and interesting. There was a good mix of free-flowing conversation and the acquisition of language skills. The social activities were well-planned and helped me discover beautiful Madrid.
Response: Dear Yves, thanks a lot for your beatiful words . We really hope to see you soon in Tandem again, here you have your friends.

Bobo Stevic Katedralskolan: Tandem offers a great experience for both students and teachers! The staff is tremendously friendly and professional and all the activities well-organized. I keep coming back and will do so while it feels at home. Many places can offer these services but very few can make you feel this way!
Response: Thank you so much, Bobo!

Belen Alcocer: Fantastic Language School. Joined last January to brush up my German. Three months later I can say that I have learned a lot but also I have gained the confidence to speak the language, though still not I have found the methology used by this language school to be really good as it doesn't concentrate only on grammar. Really good idea to have dofferent teachers to work on accents. FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE!!!
Response: Thank you, Belén, for your appreciation of your time with us studying German.

S Mcleod: Not really appropriate for beginners despite what the website says. A short one on one Spanish course was created for me, but lacked resources and structure. The teacher and staff were very friendly and helpful, it would be great for people already reasonably confident (in Spanish).
Response: Dear Steph, Thanks a lot for your nice words. Your point of view and experience in our school help us to be better. Some times is very difficult to create a group of begginers becouse most of the times people has been study spanish before for at least a month. In this ocassions we tray to compensate the student... Kind regards, Mercedes Guerrero International Marketing Coordinator

Maria L: I'm surprised this school has so many good reviews. I am reviewing the Spanish department which may be different from their English department The school does not make up national holidays even though you are paying for them---so even if you are paying for 5 days of school and a national holiday lands on a Monday and Tuesday, you are still paying for 5 days. RIdiculous. One of my teachers talked so much that I might as well have stayed home watching YouTube.
Response: Dear Maria, Thanks a lot for your review. I do not undertand your complain, so sorry. Yes , you are righ , the spanish department has differents holidays dates that the english one, execept in Christmas. But in the case of the spanish department in our conditions, we publish that in the case of one to one courses and teacher training courses all the classes will be recovered.
