Le Cordon Bleu Madrid: what do users think?

jakob bonat: God will be giving me a gift that i can attend lcb one day.amin

Jose de dios: I already have several diplomas from the Cordon Bleu, Paris and Madrid. And I have been applying what I learned for a long time. And I have to say that it seems to me to be one of the best cooking schools. I think that it corresponds much more to people with certain experience and ambitions, that is, with an interest in learning, with concern and attitude. In practice, just visit people in Madrid who work and set up their business after going through the Cordon Bleu, and see that they are exemplary, that their products, recipes are the best. I strongly support the idea of training in the Cordon Bleu. Thanks.

miki droira: good education, you learn cooking techniques very quickly, but the schedules are very poorly thought out, the administration rarely helps or solves the problems of the students despite the fact that the courses are very expensive. It seems that they only care about the prestige of the school more than the well-being of the students.

Nicolas GelDe balada: The facilities are d10 and the staff more than a pleasure my sight

Álvaro José García Tejedor: I have attended several short cooking courses. The organization is impeccable. Materials and facilities, too. The chefs at the school are very attentive and willing to explain and repeat all the explanations. And in the end you can eat my that you have cooked !!!
Response: Thank you very much, Alvaro Jose. We hope you continue to be encouraged to enjoy haute cuisine with our short courses ;)

Caramel Light: Is there a scholarship option in Le Cordon bleu? -I really want to study ... and give my life for cooking -But I am someone poor who lives in Bolivia ... I don't want to make excuses ... I just ask for an opportunity

ana fernandez cerdan: Monographic Christmas course, about to end, spectacular, I loved, surprised and excited. Thanks Franck, and to all who have made it possible.
Response: Thank you very much Ana. We are glad that you liked it. We are waiting for you in future courses that we do at the School.

Daniel Garmendia: A close human team with a lot of professionalism. From the moment you enter the Le Cordon Bleu cooking school you realize that everything is geared towards excellence

María Carmela Guerriero: One day ... GOD will give me this gift ... to go to meet and maybe even take a course ... in this "CULUNARY CATREDRAL"

nico elguapo: It is my dream to study in this emblematic center. I hope that one day it will become a reality.

TILDE MADRID-Spanish School for Adults: what do users think?

Mechele L: I was in intensive classes for four weeks at Tilde and made great progress. There's a wonderful atmosphere at this small school: professional and supportive. The teachers are excellent! The cultural program made my stay in Madrid even better.
Response: Dear Mechele, it was a pleasure having you at school. Students like you make our school special. We hope you come back very soon, you know you have your home here:)

Kevin F: I would highly recommend Tilde Madrid to any adult serious about taking a Spanish language course! This was my first experience in such a course (I'm a beginner and did 4 weeks of intensive between August and September 2022), and it definitely met and often exceeded my expectations as a beginner. I'm glad that I chose Tilde Madrid. When I first started looking for a school to do an intensive class, I noticed a handful of schools that had excellent ratings on Google maps. In fact, I almost signed up for a different school. But, after reading some of the negative reviews of the others, it seemed to me that many of the other schools in the area are predominantly aimed at high-school or college-aged learners. The pictures they post on their websites seemed to confirm this. Of even more concern, some may incentivize students to post positive reviews. Then, there was Tilde which touts itself as one designed for adult learners. As a 35 year old beginner in Spanish, I would rather learn in a environment of motivated adults than in a class full of high schoolers sent overseas by their parents for the summer or college students more concerned about socializing than learning. From this standpoint, Tilde was awesome! The students there during my stay ranged from retirement age to my age and came from a variety of countries - the UK, Germany, Switzerland, the US. I very much enjoyed the diversity of age and nationality. The other factor that led me to choose Tilde was that the guaranteed class-size was smaller than other schools. I thought this would be important for getting adequate speaking experience. For whatever reason, when I was there, I only ever had 1 other classmate which I thought was perfect. Now to things that Tilde does really well. First, the location of the school is amazing, minutes away from the Palacio Real and Plaza Mayor, right in the heart of the city. I enjoyed walking to class every day, but it's also only a few minutes from the Opera metro stop. Next, and perhaps most importantly, I found everyone from the teachers to the administrators to be very friendly and welcoming throughout my 4 weeks there. The professors are professional, yet very friendly and fun to talk with. Shout-out to the teachers I had during my weeks there: Carmen, Marga, and Elsa! Each was attentive, engaged, and seemed eager to help us learn. They were always on time and came prepared with learning activities, but were also flexible enough to just allow time for us to speak which as a beginner takes time. In general, I thought there was a great balance between conversation, grammar, and vocabulary in classes. For the intensive class, I had two 1.5 hour blocks per day in addition to the morning tea. One block seemed to have more of a focus on grammar and the other more on conversation, but in each, there was plenty of time for us to practice speaking if we desired. The morning tea idea is a really cool one. Every morning at 9 am, one of the directors, either Lola or Pilar, sits down with everyone currently at the school, usually 4-8 students, and chats about the news from the newspaper or the TV. I liked this because it expanded my vocabulary to include things from current events and because it exposed me to higher levels of Spanish learners and let me get to know everyone at the school a bit. There is free coffee and tea and the school puts out some small snacks like biscuits in the mid-morning which is a nice gesture. Finally, I found the free cultural activities to be really good. These occur twice a week and are either tours through neighborhoods of Madrid or to the major museums in Madrid. Each last 1.5 hours. Most of the tours when I was there were guided by Sonia Fernandez Matesanz who was an extraordinary guide and somehow managed to convey super interesting facts and history in Spanish to a newb like me. That said, I think the higher level learners also really enjoyed the tours. All in all, I don't hesitate to give Tilde Madrid a 5/5 star rating and would pick them again if I were to return for another course.
Response: WOW Kevin! This reference that you have written does exceed our expectations because of how generous and detailed it is. The entire TILDE team sincerely thanks you for your visit. It has been a pleasure having you at school these four weeks. You are one of those students who make school a special place because of your interest in learning and your kindness. Thank you very much again and as we have told you so many times at school: We will miss you! We wish you the best of luck in your professional career. A very strong hug and see you soon.

keith dunder: Great School!. I attended Tilde for 4 weeks , in the intensive course 4 hours per day , in Jan and Feb 2018. It is a wonderful Spanish learning environment for adults. The faculty are very experienced , and attuned to the individual level and needs of each student; the classes are very small, allowing for and promoting individual progress. And it is a tremendous amount of fun, so much so that you don't always appreciate how much you are learning. I had a distant background studying Spanish, but had not taken a class for over 30 years. By the third week, I had people speaking Spanish in my dreams!
Response: Keith, it's great that you dream of people speaking in Spanish:))))) hahaha. Thank you very much for your comment, we loved meeting you at the school. A hug!

Dragana Vagic: Learning Spanish with Ina at TILDE MADRID School has been a pure joy for me. I find my professor very experienced, friendly, patient and able to explain important details so well. I’m looking forward to every single one of our lessons! She is knowledgeable about Spanish culture and history, so I've learned a lot not only about the language but also about Spain through our in-depth conversations. With every class I'm also having fun learning grammar exercises. I can see that my fluency is improving quickly and I’m speaking Spanish at work with much, much more confidence. I live in Los Angeles but with Zoom classes I really feel like I'm part of Madrid! This school is very professional and well organized.
Response: Thank you very much Dragana. For your teacher Ina and for the rest of the TILDE MADRID team, it is a real pleasure that you are part of our Spanish community:) A big hug.

Martina Sahre: This is a really great school for learning Spanish! I have been taking classes at this school via Skype, which works really well for me. I have also been at the school for in-person classes and that, too, was a great experience. The teachers at the school are all experienced and really invested in teaching Spanish. The class sizes are adjusted, so that there are enough students to interact, learn and practice, but not too many to be able to teach efficiently. In addition, there are activities to help you practice, such as guided walks through Madrid and morning newspaper discussions; both really helpful ways to apply the knowledge you gained in class. I am really glad I stumbled across this school in a google search a couple of years ago!
Response: Martina, thank you very much for leaving your comment here. We are glad that you continue learning Spanish and enjoying your classes at a distance. It is a pleasure to have you in our Spanish family :)

Donna Sparks: I really enjoyed my week of intensive Spanish at Tilde. All communications before and during were very professional. The teachers were great and the 4 hours flew by - I really liked the review of the papers over coffee - nice way to start the day. Great use of teaching materials. Two cultural activities were included in the fees and I'm really glad we did them - all in Spanish of course, and a great way to see and learn more about the city We were a small class - just me and my husband! 110% recommend the school and went I come back to Madrid I'll definitely book more classes
Response: Thank you very much, Donna! It was a pleasure to have you at school. We hope to see you again very soon in Madrid. A hug!!

daschy kathy: I have only the highest compliments for Tilde Madrid. From my initial contacts with the team (Pilar, Lola and Rosa), my arrival and enrollment at the school, to my successful completion of both Spanish and dance lessons, the experience was extremely positive. Tilde is staffed with fine Spanish language teachers and auxiliary personnel whose knowledge of history, art, dance, cooking, etc., ensure a total cultural experience. Unlike some larger Spanish language schools in Madrid, Tilde is small enough to allow for meaningful, personal contact in and outside the classroom. Another asset: Tilde's location near the Sol Plaza is easily accessible. The school itself occupies a charming building and is comfortable and well-appointed.
Response: Thank you very much for your kind comment, Kathy. We hope to see you again very soon. We miss you!!

Stefan Thomson: Tilde is an incredible school that I would recommend to anyone thinking about spending time in Spain learning the language. The school was recommended to me by a friend, and I was not dissapointed. I had a fantastic experience at Tilde in February 2020. I booked a 1 week course at the school which consisted of 5 teaching days and 2 afternoon activities. As I was the only person with my level of Spanish (A2) at the school at the time, I was given shorter classes (with a teacher all to myself). This 1 on 1 experience was fantastic and really helped me to grasp concepts I was struggling to understand (pronouns and past tenses). This is a real strength of the school and means that you will always have a class, even if there aren't any other students in your level. The teaching at the school was fantastic. I didn't know it at the time, but my teacher, Carmen, has written Spanish language learning books-I think this exemplifies the quality of teaching on offer at the school. Lessons were fun, interactive and engaging. The small class sizes, capped at 4, mean that studying at Tilde is a different experience to studying at different language schools. There are also many other activities on offer at the school. I took part in cafe y prensa activities every morning. We would have a coffee and chat whilst discussing the headlines in the day's newspapers. This was an excellent opportunity to improve my conversational Spanish skills. I also attended 2x cultural tours of the city (Prada Museum and Literary Neighbourhood). Both tours were extremely interesting and allowed me to gain an insight into the culture of the city whilst practicing Spanish. The tour guide, Sonya, is so knowledgeable about the history of her city, speaks slowly to aid understanding and ensures all tours are enjoyable. I would definitely recommend taking part in all extra activities if you visit the school. I also booked accommodation with the school. I stayed with a lovely host family for a week and was able to practice Spanish with them at breakfast time and later in the evening. I had desk space to complete my homework and was located very close to a metro line. I really did have an amazing experience learning at Tilde. I will be back in October. I enjoyed it that much. The school has such a lovely, welcoming atmosphere that it's impossible not to become attached. I couldn't give this school a higher recommendation. A hidden gem!
Response: Dear Stefan, thank you very much for your very detailed comment. It was a pleasure meeting you at school. I hope you visit us again soon. A hug:)

John Kellner: I was fortunate to spend 2 weeks at Tilde earlier this month. My goal in enrolling there was to try to reacquaint myself with the Spanish language, which I had studied in school 40 years ago, but had not spoken, read or really even heard since then. During that long lapse, I had forgotten most of what I once knew. I picked Tilde over the other language schools I considered because of its focus on teaching adults, and because I hoped that due to its small size, it could provide a student like me with more individualized attention than I might receive in another setting. It also happens to be located in an attractive and central part of Madrid, a very beautiful city. My experience at Tilde was fantastic. Each day I had lessons with two of the profesoras there. Not only were both of them great teachers; they were also an absolute pleasure to spend time with and come to know. They were very adept, dedicated, patient, persistent and fun. The Spanish language book upon which they base their lessons is intuitive, clear and easy to follow. This isn't to say that the work was not hard for me - it was (including serious daily homework). But I looked forward to my lessons each day, and I missed them and the teachers when my time there was over. I should also mention that the Tilde support staff was always responsive, gracious and helpful, and the guide who lead the cultural activities was extremely skilled and knowledgeable, and a great teacher of Spanish history, art and literature (among other topics). I strongly recommend this school to anyone who wants to learn Spanish, or to hone or improve upon language skills they already have. It was just a great overall experience.
Response: Thank you so much, John. It was great having you at school. I wish you the best and see you soon :)!

Dan Hendry: Tilde Madrid is an excellent small Spanish school with excellent supportive teachers. I chose them for their location in Madrid, and the medical spanish course which is something quite rare. Every morning I had 4 hours of classes over the course of 5 weekdays and the hours flew by as it was so enjoyable. Discussing the news of the day over a coffee every morning is a great touch, as are the included excursions in some of the afternoons which are of a high quality and adjusted to the level of the students who attend. Very highly recommended!
Response: Thank you very much, Dan. We are glad that you enjoyed the Spanish course. Your visit to our school was a pleasure for us. We hope to see you very soon! A hug

Entabla MM: what do users think?

Ovens International: Entabla is a place where you do your advance carpentry course located in Humanes Madrid Spain. In this place you will be thought how to draw with differend kinds of software like SKETCHUP, AUTODESK etc and how to handle differend kinds of Carpentry tolls/ machines.

Gala Rubí: They have not provided us with an internship place after a year of completing the course and I have been trying to contact them through different channels for months. I do not recommend it. The course was poorly organized and we did not receive the books on time.

Marissa Lopez: Very good center. I just finished a certificate of professionalism in administrative management activities, the teacher is very prepared, she cares that the students understand what they are studying. I did the internship right away and they hired me at the company. I recommend them.

yvonne gasca: a deplorable attention months after a course and they call you once and send you an email that they have already given your place that is to say that they insisted they notify you as in all the academies that provide the same service that you call them or something, liars because I put a complaint and they said that I had not answered their messages, fatally incapable and inept human, I do not recommend the villaverde is 100 times better, more organized and better managed.

Doris Mariana Rojas Delgado: I have felt very well received by the office staff and they have resolved my doubts with great patience and professionalism, thank you for your time.

Alan Moreno: Okay

Angel Luis Núñez Martín: Brilliant job! We have relied on them for both the kitchen and the rest of the carpentry and it has been the best decision! Denis Roldán: The best carpenters in Madrid. We met them on the recommendation of an architecture studio. Without a doubt, we do not regret having entrusted them with the kitchen and general carpentry. The quality of the finishes and the care they put into each project are admirable and the prices are very good! You won't regret hiring them.

Sara MA: We are very happy with the services provided, in addition to the platform and the doors of the apartment, they have designed and assembled a beautiful kitchen with a lot of storage space :) The process has been fluid and pleasant, Carlos with infinite patience explained every detail to us, choosing with us what best fit, proposing improvements or alternatives and being available to answer questions. The times have been adjusted to what they told us too, and the fitters were very efficient and clean. In short, completely recommended; In view of all this, we have also ordered a couple of bespoke pieces of furniture that we look forward to

Jorge Benito: Some real professionals. In my house they have put the kitchen with a beautiful island with very good qualities and finishes at a reasonable price. They also do all kinds of wood and they have also put the cabinets for me. I definitely recommend them and they have already done more work with friends of mine.

The product just what I was looking for, at a correct price and a very good quality. Jesus M: Excellent professionals and magnificent finishes. From the beginning they perfectly understood what we were looking for, they guided us and gave us alternatives and we clearly saw from the beginning that they were specialists, both Carlos in attention and design, as well as the Installation team, great professionals with extreme care in the auctions and finishes. . In addition, they did the kitchen for us in record time, reducing the deadlines initially planned. Thanks to all the team at El Corte Maderero.

Lorena Alvarez: Thank you for the advice given by the personnel of the Timber Court, highlighting the excellent work, the quality materials and locks and that my kitchen gave problems for the installation of the furniture due to the malformations of the walls and the ceiling. Despite being a small kitchen, it was made quite functional. Quick installation and attention received.

Hikmat Eziani: Professionals fall short. It's a bit far from where I live but they made my mother's kitchen and I loved it, so I opted for El Corte Maderero. Speed, clean and are of word. The assemblers are great, explaining everything at all times and Carlos gives you great ideas even if you go with another idea. I love the truth 😍

Academy don Quijote: what do users think?

Verena Barusic: This school is located in the city center, it is a beautiful building. I was very lucky with my teachers, Paloma and Amanda, we were only three students, so I could improve a lot. The oral classes in the afternoon should be organised in another way. Two levels were mixed (A1/A2). In the afternoon/in the evening/at the weekend the school did not offer any activities. It was very tough to meet other people.

Marche' Maine: I withhold my recommendation of this school and advise others to read all the reviews with healthy criticism. My primary complaint with this school is the obvious disregard for your proper placement in a level of Spanish class. I was placed in a class with the majority of students who had a greater capability in speaking Spanish so the professor accommodated that higher level for the other students. I was continuously left behind in understanding and became increasingly frustrated. I became a dead-weight on the other students, that is neither fair nor correct. It is bad a pedagogy. The professors were very nice but failed to provide a preparation list of new words to learn and did not slow down AT ALL to explain context. As others have said, the text book is used very, very quickly if at all. Don Quijote seems just wanting to gouge you for 45€ There is no linear process in the teaching which makes for terrible confusion and frustration. That is not good pedagogy. I was told to wait for after the first day because it is "normal". Also, I was told that if I moved class, I would waste another day taking a test. That is not language instruction, that is test taking. It not normal to waste 1/5 of your experience because Don Quijote failed to do proper placement. When I made mention to the office manager Pedro he attempted to blame me for doing well on the placement test even though I told them I can understand the gist of Spanish but need serious help in speaking Spanish. The conversation class (which is extra € of course) was less conversation but more ask and tell. There were too many people in the class to have successful dialogue skills. Don Quijote seems to be a business scheme, one that works aggressively to sell you a product then fails to deliver properly. I am a retired professional and have experienced quality educational programming and content in my career.

Munira Reed: This is a wonderful school in a great setting. I have attended for one or two weeks every year for a number of years. The teachers are outstanding, I have found them to be knowledgeable and flexible with different levels of learning. Very patient with all personality types. I especially enjoy the variety of ages and countries of origin I find here.
Response: Thank you very much, Munira!! We're very happy you enjoyed our school!

Justin Chairez: Due to the ongoing global pandemic I will not be able to attend the school but have still had a unique experience none the less. I write this as a warning to other looking into traveling abroad and wanting to gain a grip of the culture of the world - beware of this school and its little willingness to work with you. As I am sure all of us have felt in these uncertain times, the global situation of the world has been continuously changing from week to week, if not from day to day. While being in talks with the school for the past few weeks, mainly due to an email response coming to me once a week if I am lucky, the school has been unwilling to refund me the full amount I paid in tuition because for some uncertain reasoning its policies never updated with the time. While it is true the school offered to hold my money to let me use it for a later time as well as take online courses, these so called 'options' appear to only benefit its money eccentric approach. Seeing how I am being treated through emails makes me glad I will not be attending this school if this is the manner in which students are treated

Mari Schindele: We were very disappointed with nearly all aspects of the program, with one exception: the additional private lessons we had booked. Our son liked his private lessons very much and found them useful. His regular classroom teacher was nice, but the classes weren't useful because he was placed in a level that was too low, and the class duplicated his IB Spanish class that he had already taken. There were many other problems: 1. We paid 89 euros to have him picked up at the airport, and the pickup service never showed up. He had to pay extra to take a cab. 2. His hostess didn't talk with my son at all. She put his food in front of him and then retreated into her room to watch TV. We had asked to have him with a host family so he could practice his Spanish, as advertised on the website. He didn't get to do this at all. She also served very poor-quality food (frozen food that wasn't heated enough), and there wasn't enough food. 3. We were told by the salesperson on the website that everyone in the program would be about our son's age (18), but in fact he was the only teenager in a group of 30-year-old businesspeople. We were very disappointed with our experiences with Don Quijote and would warn against them.
Response: We want to express our sincerest apologies for your experience with us in Madrid, please write to to our department of customer service at helpdq@donquijote.org. We would like to contact you in order to improve the experience

Mike Baclacian: Very expensive. I made a mistake with my flight, and they did not allow me to make up that day. They do not care about you achieving, they just want your your money. For 13 pages of exercises you will do in their book in one week, they will make you pay 65 Euros for the book. They have no idea about customer service, and the director and the other person under him, who work in the front office, are very rude. They do not want to hear your questions or to be bothered. The teachers want to just take it easy and chat for the class to take up the time. The teachers text on their phone while they tell you to do some exercise in a group. I heard good things about Enforex.
Response: We want to express our sincerest apologies for your experience with us in Madrid, if you have a specific complaint about any of our staff or facilities, we encourage you to write to our department of customer service at helpdq@donquijote.org. They will respond as soon as possible and will work with you to solve any issues that may have occurred. Once again, we are sorry that you did not have the experience you were expecting.

Selena Moore: I did a course here a few years ago in 2016 and found the teachers keen and excellent. The location is central and I would return again.

Kramer Seinfeld: +teachers were great, equipment is alright, the building is fine, well located, free internet -Just two toilets for all students is not enough (I was there at Xmas time when not a lot of students were there. I can imagine during busy summertime it is worst) It is difficult to get in touch with other students that are not in your class because there is no lounge, common room or patio.
Response: Thanks for your feedback Kramer, we will take it into account

paulo martinello: Nice school. I didn't understand why there is only one toilet and it doesn't have a way to dry hands after wash 😋

CIEE Study Abroad Madrid: what do users think?

Aria Mehta: CIEE is a relatively expensive program and I wish I realized earlier that the 3-day hotel stay was an option, as it is roughly $1000 cheaper than the 7-day hotel stay that I did. Nonetheless, orientation was well-executed and prepared me to teach at a secondary school in Madrid. Working hours are great, roughly 16 hours a week with added hours for course planning, but never more than 20 hours a week including this. Everyone works 4 days a week, so you will either get Friday or Monday off. I have Mondays off and I love it! In one of my "Cons", I wrote "stipend of 1000 euros a month". However, it is important to note that this is comparable to what many full-time English teachers make here in Spain while working closer to 40 hours a week (I believe their monthly stipend is closer to 1500-2000 euros a month, if that helps give you an idea). Pros: - 4 day workweek, only 16-20 hours a week - Do not need to speak any Spanish to be on the program Cons: - Stipend of 1000 euros a month - Spain is not the most racially accepting

monica verdugo: I collaborate with them and together we get the students to live an unforgettable experience. All the people who work at ciee have students as a priority, they strive to make them feel good and safe, have fun and learn. I can only say good things.

Jeremy Suzuki: Very cool and organized

Diana: excellent service! and administration

EL GUSTO ES NUESTRO: what do users think?

Saluqui Paya Gomez: Last night we had a marvellous time with the very talented Chef Celia. The place was beautiful and welcoming and Celia treated us to a great combination of dishes. It was lots of fun and l would reccomed it to anyone looking for a new experience.
Response: Thank you so much!!!

Ana Martin: This wonderful cooking school and catering company is really worth the visit. They offer personalised courses and a state-of-the-art, cutting-edge and creative catering solutions for both business and personal events.

Oscar Aramburu: I was hesitant because I've been cooking forever, and I thought I wasn't going to learn much. Well, I was wrong... It was an excellent course, in which they taught us new techniques, preparation methods, tips for doing classic things... Chef Celia is very patient and knows how to transmit knowledge excellently, as well as being kind to me. The setting is 11/10. I never imagined being able to cook in a kitchen so well assembled. To put a but, it could not be participating in the preparation of each part of the recipes. We left there having dinner, so luxury. I will definitely repeat another course.
Response: Thank you very much for your review.

Diego: Without a doubt a fantastic experience, I admit that I am not a very good cook, but I left the course learning how to make four new dishes, the treatment is spectacular. Celia was our cooking teacher, she made everything so easy that time flew by, I recommend you take one of the courses they offer, which are quite varied and of many types of cuisine. Without a doubt, do not stop enjoying this experience.
Response: hahahaha, as you are not a good cook !!! that would be before coming to the G. !!!

Vicente Sanchis Garcia: It is the first time that we were going to try this type of activity and the truth is that we have left very happy. Celia has been an ideal hostess, very nice, orderly and very knowledgeable and the Nikkei food that we have prepared was very good and she has helped us to make some chef presentations. We will repeat for sure!
Response: Thank you very much for the review, we hope to see those reproductions at home.

Rocio del Valle: They gave us a cooking course for our wedding. We chose the Couples In Love. The very nice place, industrial warehouse type very well decorated and with large kitchens to accommodate groups. Ours was for 12 people (6 couples), and at all times we wore the mask (we took it off to drink or eat and immediately put it back on) so the covid measures were perfectly respected. Our chef was Celia, a great professional, patient, with people skills and good humor. Thank you Celia! The menu is very good and the dynamics are fun. We all participated in the preparation of it while we drank and tried the different dishes. A highly recommended experience. We, of course, will repeat without a doubt!
Response: Hello Rocio. Thank you very much for the review, the truth is that we love reading things like that... you have already made our morning happy, thank you, and above all, thank you for trusting in such strange times in companies like ours, we will continue working with care

Javier De Elena Sánchez: Very good experiences !!! We have already done two courses with them, Middle Eastern cuisine and brunch, and we will repeat for sure !!! You learn useful tricks to cook every day, cooking with chef Celia is a master class !!! A complete gastronomic experience in which in addition to learning new recipes and eating different dishes, you have fun with other colleagues !!! Also available courses for companies.
Response: Thank you very much Javier, it is a pleasure to have such good students and people so eager to enjoy themselves around the kitchen. We hope to see you again soon at school.

Juan Sanz: Today we attended the rice course. Highly recommended. The cook teacher Diego very good and pleasant. 4 rice dishes, paella with rabbit, green rice with asparagus, black rice with cuttlefish and sticky rice with Iberian pork.
Response: Hello Juan. Thank you for your review. I hope you play them at home and they come out even better!

Maria Dalbano: He recommended it 1000%. It has been a great experience, we have learned a lot and we have had a great time. My boy and I have taken the beginners course of 4 classes, it really exceeded our expectations, Diego was our teacher and he was incredible, attentive, very professional and very patient. Each dish one better than the other. The supply is comfortable, with excellent facilities, it includes everything, you just have to attend and want to learn, they comply with all the Covid protocols. We will repeat!!! Thank you very much!!
Response: Thank you very much Maria. A super pleasure to have you here! Feeling at home is what we try to do every day. But in the end you generate the good vibes

Ainhoa Larrad: I loved it! My boy and I have gone to the rice course as a gift for his birthday and it has been great. The four types of delicious rice, and Celia, the teacher, charming. They let you cook and taste the dishes you make. It seems to me a super cool idea to give away although for €60 the three hours fly but hey. We will surely repeat, possibly with the pastry course. It has been a great pleasure.
Response: Hahaha. Hey, what a joy it gives us to know that you had a great time !! 3h fly by !! The days should last much longer !! Yes of course!

Saint Louis University — Madrid Campus: what do users think?

Maycie Rosado: Attending a university in central Madrid is life changing and has many benefits, but attending an American university abroad such as Saint Louis University-Madrid Campus is even better! On and off campus, everyday I experience a multicultural environment. Students are from around the world and my professors are as well. Having this diversity brings many great conversations to the table and allows all of us to learn from each other and make a connection. I have met so many people in my major that have given me a different outlook on things because of our diversity and interest to learn from each other. The campus staff are welcoming and helpful and the facilities are accommodating. I would recommend attending or studying abroad at this university because Saint Louis University-Madrid Campus has so much to offer.

Addie Knight: Going into my 3rd year, I could not be happier with my decision to study international business at SLU-Madrid. The incredibly diverse, yet small, classes allow for fantastic discussion and have helped me to develop a much broader perspective of our ever-globalizing world. Professors and staff are also always available to help and truly go above and beyond.
Response: Thanks for reviewing us, Addie. We're really pleased that SLU-Madrid has been a great experience for you!

Scott Rose: I came to Madrid to study abroad for only one semester, and I was so impressed with the close-knit environment at SLU Madrid that I transferred universities so I could complete my degrees here. (Obviously I fell in love with Madrid, too.) But two years later, I know without a doubt that it was the right choice for me. The personal relationships with my professors and advisors remind me that the faculty at SLU Madrid are more than just educators--they are mentors and friends who truly want to see their students succeed. So happy that I made the choice to study here.
Response: Thank you for your thoughtful review, Scott. We are so pleased that SLU-Madrid has offered you such a meaningful experience.

Frances Evans: Choosing Saint Louis University Madrid Campus has been one of the best decisions I've made so far! I get the opportunity to study in Europe while completing an American degree. I especially like the close student-teacher relationships and the diversity of the campus.
Response: Thanks for the review, Frances! It's great to hear that you're happy with your decision to become a Madrid Billiken. :)

Makensie Marten: I’ve been studying at the Madrid campus for 2 years now and it has been a great experience. I like having the small community on campus within the big city environment. The campus itself is really nice, and the multicultural professors and students mean classes are full of diverse opinions and experiences.
Response: Thanks for sharing your opinion, Makensie!

Matt Bruton: I have had an amazing time at SLU Madrid getting to experience the Spanish culture as well as a lively student life. The classes are very well taught and highly recommend speaking with an admissions counselor about coming here for a full time undergraduate degree or studying abroad at this campus.
Response: We're glad you've had a great experience at SLU-Madrid, Matt! Thanks for taking the time to review us.

Nura Naama: I just recently graduated from Saint Louis University after spending all four undergraduate study years at the Madrid Campus. I can honestly say these have been the best four years of my studies. I enjoyed all that the university had to offer; whether it was the excellent professors or the amazing friends I've made, SLU-Madrid will always hold a special place in my heart.

Caroline Osborn: I have loved my experience at SLU-Madrid! The professors are attentive and knowledgeable and the student body is extremely diverse. I know I am having a truly global experience with the range of backgrounds present in each of my classes!
Response: Great to hear that you're having a positive experience, Caroline. Thanks for the review!

Pamir Karakaya: Do not even dare to think that you’ll have a “good time” here. Nope. There are far more things to say about this f.ing university even if you can call it that. Its not a university, its a business place and they make sure you know that every step of the way. Controlling, manipulative, conniving, manic administrative staff and professors that actually don’t teach you a thing but you rather buy humongously overpriced textbooks and that’s how you pass the exams without learning a thing, let alone actually conversing in the classrooms about various topics of interest or the professors teaching methods actually succeeding, you won’t get an education but a piece of paper at the end of every term, and then a diploma saying you graduated. Hahaha graduated my 🍑!
Response: Hello Pamir, We are very disappointed to learn from your review that your experience at SLU-Madrid did not meet your expectations. SLU-Madrid has been in Madrid for more than 50 years now and we are very proud of our community of accomplished alumni who are working across the globe. We strongly believe that both our faculty and staff are highly qualified and we aspire to provide our students a top-notch education which prepares them to launch successful and meaningful careers. We are sorry to hear that you did not feel that the quality of the education is up to your standards. We wish you the best in your continued pursuits.

Emma Smith: Saint Louis Madrid is a Campus unlike any other! It is diverse and full of extrodinary people, not to mention it is in one of the best European cities! I learned so much both inside and outside the classroom and I will be glad to say that i graduated from such a great university.
Response: Good luck with your studies, Emma. Glad you're having a good experience at SLU-Madrid!

Academia Contacto: what do users think?

Анастасия Налетова: I am really grateful this school for incredible learning process. I had no idea that studying smth new could be so awesome. Teachers are truly know their business! I came to this school to learn Spanish to deal with some professional things, but I’d fallen in love with Spanish by teacher’s help. Moreover, I want to stress that class’s atmosphere was very friendly. In spite of the fact that we all were from different countries, we really supported each other. One more time: thank you very much for what you are doing!
Response: Thank you Anastasia. We are very happy that you enjoyed studying with us so much!

Av. Ceren Özdoğan: I am very happy to be studying here, their services are great. Very welcoming and warm atmosphere, teachers are great. Everyone is so friendly and helpful, 100% recommend! Thanks for everything!!
Response: Thank you Ceren, we are also very happy with our students!!

Rocket MC: Honestly I am surprised to see all the positive reviews here and I wonder how many among them are legit. The service is horrible and the owner only listens when you make your payments. I was there for few months and I met so many unhappy students. The only reason I stayed was only because I was too lazy to spend time and efforts looking for another school.
Response: We are sorry if you were disappointed. Of course you can contact us anytime and tell us what we can do better. Thanks

Stephanie Crossley: My second course at Academia Contacto was just as enjoyable and beneficial as the first one. The school is centrally located in a lovely area, the premises are light and modern, the quality of the teaching is excellent (with motivated and hard working teachers who know how to motivate their students) and the price very competitive. I will definitely return again to continue learning in a studious yet pleasant atmosphere.
Response: Gracias Stephanie! It is always a pleasure for us all to have you in our school. You are always welcome!!

Caspar Moran: I spent two months at Academia Contacto in August and September, when I first started I knew almost zero Spanish and after two months I felt like I greatly improved. The teachers (a special mention to Angelica, Celia and Adriana) but also Fanny and Mario who coordinate the school are exceptional and are passionate about teaching you in a way which is fun and interactive. The school itself is in a really central location and, despite being small, is welcoming and bright. I’d recommend the school to anyone wanting a fantastic place to learn Spanish.
Response: Thank you very much Caspar!!! We love you too!! ❤️

Sharon Harrilla: My daughter and I took a 1-week class with a homestay arrangement 6/28/21-7/03/21 and found the experience to be professional, punctual, well-organized, friendly, and encouraging in pursuing our life-goal of continuously improving our Spanish skills. As a teacher of 20+ years in both private and public schools, I was impressed with their assessment and class placement procedure. We both felt that we were placed exactly where we needed to be and loved the challenge of full immersion instruction and language activities. What a joy to be in class with students from Italy, Switzerland, Ireland, and Senegal! Communicating with our classmates in Spanish was so rewarding and was a testament to the value in speaking a second language. The homestay experience was top-notch. I highly recommend this arrangement if you are serious about using your skills and having another opportunity to meet students of all ages (I'm 50, my daughter is 19 and our housemates were 21, 25, and 17). Before we set off for class, we enjoyed breakfast with Maria (our AMAZING host). This was a great way to start our day with warming up our Spanish skills as she asked us what our plans were for the day or we discussed current events. Each evening we ended the day with an amazing meal prepared by Maria. This was another opportunity to sit and enjoy each other's company while practicing our language skills. We are looking forward to returning for more classes and will certainly request to stay with Maria once again! Excellent job Academia Contacto!
Response: Thank you Sharon for your opinion and for taking the time to write such a complete text !! Thanks for your kind words. A hug

Corey Paredes: I have taken Spanish lessons twice at Academia Contacto in Madrid. Both times have truly been fantastic experiences, and I am so happy to have discovered a Spanish academy that is so dedicated to its students and their learning. The teachers are highly qualified and experienced foreign language instructors, and they understand how to work with a variety of different learning styles and student demographics. Class sizes are large enough for diverse and vibrant interactions, but small enough to give each student personalized attention (5-8 students normally). I appreciated how there were a variety of classes and levels offered, so that I always felt pushed to improve my Spanish without feeling as though the class was too easy or difficult for my level. Both times I chose to do 20 hrs of classroom instruction with 5 hrs of individual lessons. I enjoyed this option since it allowed me to practice multiple types of language skills while focusing on specific areas I needed to improve in. It was especially enjoyable getting to know my teachers, and the one-on-one lessons enabled me to greatly improve my conversation skills on a variety of subjects. I always felt that my teachers were prepared, knowledgeable about their language, and truly cared about their students. The instructors are not simply native Spaniards, but true masters of their language who understand the grammar and how to teach it to foreign learners. For both of my visits I opted to stay in housing arranged by Academia Contacto. I selected a single room in a shared apartment, which meant that I was given my own room within a larger apartment shared with other individuals studying in Madrid. The accommodations were comfortable and located not far from the academy and other places of interest. The school itself is very centrally located and easy to get to, with great classrooms and a very modern/professional feel that made me feel comfortable and at home. The language school is mostly attended by Europeans in their 20s-30s, but also attracts some Americans and individuals from other regions. I found the students at the school to be friendly, interesting, and open to conversation. Overall, an incredible language Academy, and I can't wait to come back! As an American, it can sometimes be scary to commit to something abroad, but taking lessons at Academia Contacto has definitely been a great choice.
Response: Wow Corey. Your words make us extremely happy! It is a pleasure to work with students like you!! We'll do our best to keep our standards so high.

Merritt Brothwell: I've been taking classes here for 2 weeks, I'm a beginner (A1). The school is great, the classrooms are clean, and the staff and teachers are friendly. The course is well designed, and the Spanish is specific to Spain. I'm taking the intense course and I've learn a lot very quickly. Also, Laura is a great teacher! I'm very happy with my decision to take classes here.
Response: Thanks for your kind words, Merritt! We’ll try to keep improving though!

Barry Rosenblum: A small, well-organized school. Close to metro station. The staff is pleasant and welcoming. I studied there for two weeks during August, and I felt that my Spanish was improved. In my personal experience, one teacher was less good, but another teacher was excellent. Also, there were days when the class was with too many students. In my opinion up to 6-7 students it is excellent, but there were days when there were 9-10 students which is too much. Overall I was very pleased and I recommend this school.
Response: Hola Barry. Thanks for your review!! We keep trying to improve, always!

G De Klee: Thank you so much to Gemma, Mario and the Academia team! They have been fantastic teachers and have taken my Spanish very quickly to a level which I'm very pleased with. Not only are they fantastic teachers, but also excellent mentors who have guided me fantastically through my time in Madrid, always willing to help out with any doubts. Thank you so much!
Response: Thanks for your kind words, George. We are always happy to help
