Sara Bauer: A traditional Spanish-style shoe store selling mainly espadrilles and avarcas. Such a quaint little shop for a great souvenir if you’re visiting Madrid! So reasonable priced for such a durable and comfortable shoe! If you look outside the store, near the exit door, there is a plaque in the sidewalk stating that this storefront has existed there and been the same business for at least 100 years! I feel like that speak to quality.

Alba Díez Fernández: The treatment is very improvable. They do not repair boots that they have not made (despite having confirmed otherwise by phone).

Benjamin Veltum: A small but very motivated brand from Madrid who know exactly how to meet expectations from international customers who are used to classic British shoe craftsmanship. The shoes are of a very high quality and completely handmade which is rather unusual at this price level. It's always good to have a few pairs of Crownhill in your collection!

Maximilian Nieland: BE CAREFUL IF ORDERING OUTSIDE OF SPAIN! Terrible shopping experiance! I ordered a pair of shoes over a month ago. They arrived very quickly and money was transfered very quickly as well. Unfortunatelly shoes didn't fit, so I asked for a return ticket, to switch sizes. Answer came quickly as well. I had to pay for the return ticket on my own (14€). I was afraid to switch sizes because of the danger of having to send them back twice (would have been 28€ just for trying on). After sending the shoes back I got no message and no refund of 189€ !!! I wrote several Emails to "customer care" but no answers. I had to call twice to ask for my money. After the calls two more Emails got no answer again. Money arrived 1 1/2 month later. I wont order no more because of the danger of the trouble during the shopping experiance. Products seem to be good though! VORSICHT BEI BESTELLUNGEN AUßERHALB VON SPANIEN! Fürchterliche Kauferfahrung! Ich habe vor über einem Monat ein Paar Schuhe bestellt. Schuhe kamen schnell an und Geld wurde umgeehnd abgebucht. Leider haben die Schuhe nicht gepasst, also habe ich um ein Rückversandsticket gebeten, damit ich die Größe wechseln kann. Antwort kam umgehend. Rücksendungen müssen selber bezahlt werden (14€). Da ich Angst hatte, dass auch die neue Größe nicht passen könnte und ich wieder die Rücksendung finanzieren müsste habe ich mich gegen einen Tausch entschieden (da sonst 28€ fürs anprobieren). Nachdem ich die Schuhe zurück geschickt habe kam keine Empfangsbestätigung und keine Rücküberweisung (189€) !!! Der Kundendienst hat nicht mehr auf mehrere Emails reagiert. Ich musste zwei mal anrufen, um nach meinem Geld zu fragen. Nach den Telefonaten passierte nichts (trotz versprechen) und weitere Emails blieben unbeantwortet. Geld kam dann 1 1/2 Monate später. Ich werde nicht nochmal bestellen. Der Trubel im Nachgang zu einer Bestellung und die hohen Versandkosten halten mich davon ab.
Response: Dear Maximilian, we are really sorry about your bad experience. We have a size change insurance that you would have been covered in case you need to change the shoe size. You didn´t decide to use it. Please note that is also written that you should ship the shoes back to us to our store with tracking number provided, and you have sent the shoes through standard post which took the shoes to Spain at least 2/3 weeks. Also I had to walk 2km to pick up the shoes as they were on a "parcel shop" (which I happily did) even we told you to send the shoes to our store. The refunds are done within 10 days after receiving the shoes in perfect state, that is why in your case took so long. Also note that we always, always reply back to our customers and we will not allow any person letting us down with bad propaganda. All the best.

Mikal Rian: Helpful and friendly staff. Craftsmanship on shoes is better than expected relative to price. You really do pay for the work; not for brand name. Shoes are soft and breaking-in experience near inexistent. You can walk out with the new ones on! Two ranges: €160 and €300. On the €160 level, I'd go for the bluchers/derbies (excellent option); on the €300 level, Oxfords are nice and boots brutal. Recommended.

Marcin Baranowski: I bought a pair of Oxford New York, they sent me damaged shoes. At the beginning they claimed a bruise on the heel was on purpose, eventually they admit it was a damage. What they offered me was a 10€ refund for the next order, no word about an exchange of the current order. They didnt reply to numerous e-mails, they dont pick up the phone. Terrible customer care. The worst I could imagine and I needed the shoes for my wedding. Crownhill Shoes this is your finan call to react before legal action is undertaken.

Ricardo Ceballos: Decent quality but deceitful salespeople. US customers beware. Better off with other hat shops (they are a dime a dozen in Madrid or if you go to Seville, even better!). I bought a hat but wasn't quite sure about the fit so I went there next day to try to exchange it, even offered to pay for price differences (even though I mentioned a lower priced hat) or repairs (they put in some stick-on pads on the inside of the hat for better fit, and as they swore they made the hat in house this should generally be ok). I was told that that wasn't a possibility, so I cut my losses and went my way. After coming back home to Texas, I took the hat to a western wear shop and the hat guy there confirmed me that you can just peel off the the pads, didn't even leave a sticky residue in the lining. And if it had, he also confirmed that if they really made it they could've easily changed the lining at a cost. They just want to offload merch on you, so be extra careful with their suggestions.

Flying Gamecock: Mui excellent! We went on a whirlwind tour of Spain a few years ago and decided we needed some authentic sombreros. This place fit the bill perfectly and we still love these hats. Perfect mementos.

I have bought two pairs of shoes and one of them has been damaged after a day of use, and when I call them (the same day) to tell them, they reply that they cannot do anything because they are only distributors (but I bought them for them to them) and that I have to wait for a response from the supplier... as of today there have been 4 weeks without a response (take the shoes) and Yacare does nothing to provide a good service or at least try to accompany the customer with your problem.

Sandra R: Bad experience. Buy the Nolita sandals one more number as they recommend on the web for the instep issue. They arrived quickly and when I tried them on, they were too small for my instep so I requested a change of number, that is, I ordered two more sizes than my usual size. There was an incident in the shipment and the sandals took longer than they defined to arrive. When I tried them on, the top strap of the sandals was still super tight and the bottom straps were loose, especially one of them. I attach a photo. Request the return and explain the problem, which for me, is clearly a defect in the sandal. I did not receive any type of response to the problem, even attaching photos, but they have charged me the €6 to return them even with the defect they have. I will not buy here again, a lot of advertising, poor quality and poor service from the moment you request a return.

Each model that we manufacture passes a series of tests and the results that the Nolita sandals yielded were those that we recommend: one size larger per sole or narrow last. As for the straps, they are the generic centimeters associated with each size (which are not the same as the last). I recommend that people with wide feet ask Customer Service first for the width of the shoe they choose; in my case, the length was perfect, but the width was not, that's why I had to change them.
