Mark Wilkinson: The Google photo is NOT accurate! This place is a kitchen store, not a restaurant. Great selection (seriously... They have everything!!). Not cheap, but focus on quality. Limited brands - usually only one brand for any given item, but it's a small shop, so I'm more interested in diversity of products than choice between brands. I like this place a lot!

Really good variety of pro chef quality knives ... and for really amateur like me. Also they have cooking lessons. If you are in the sourrandings of the Opera area and you like cooking It's a visit I totally recommend.

Brian Singer: I brought a team from work here for a cooking class and we had a great time. We learned a bunch, cooked a huge meal and a delicious Tarta de Santiago (two actually) and ate a ton! It was delicious. They were able to provide an English speaking teacher who was amazing and the rest of the staff were very nice. It's a beautiful store with an amazing history. I'll definer be back and an recommending it to other teams in the office.

Augusta Gonzalez: Whenever I spend time in Madrid, I try to take advantage of some cooking classes at Alambique. I have been going to Alambique for more than 15 years and have never been disappointed. The classes are demo style with experienced and highly professional chefs. Generally a complete menu or at least 4 to 5 dishes are prepared and then shared. The atmosphere is relaxed and consequently leads to interesting conversations. I met one of my best friends at one of these classes. This year I have been to both the saffron class and the paella class. Both were full of useful information, good recipes and delicious tastings. The store has every tool you need to cook with. Thank you for offering this cook’s paradise here in Madrid.

There seems to be a misconception of what classes are, though: they're rather demonstrations, nothing practical nor hands-on. Ask for details if you're signing up for a 'curso' and you should be set.

We feel we are fairly clear on how the classes will be taught and what you will learn in each class in the school part of the of the website, though it is all in Spanish, as our regular classes are geared to the spanish market. "Talleres" are practical classes or hands-on classes and the rest are demonstration classes or "clases demostrativas". The teachers are all speciaists in their subjects (not one-size-fits-all) and they decide, with our supervision, how they think the subject is best taught. In bread you will prepare your own doughs, bake one loaf and take away the rest of the doughs and a starter. In sushi you will cut the fish supervised by one of the sushimen and then roll your maki. In jam-making and preserve talleres each student takes away their preserves. In knife skills you work in pairs on a fish and a piece of poultry and then individually on vegetables. In begginers classes you work in teams to prepare the dishes. The masterclasses or advanced classes are often demostrative, however we would not call them "demostrations" as we feel this implies a basic and simple show of the topic and distes. Most chefs feel that a demostrative class is the way to convey most information in the two and a half to three hours that these classes normally last. These classes also assume a certain level of knowledge and of cookery skills, so that attendants can concentrate on learning and asking questions, to be able to replicate the dishes, rather than having to practice or replicate every step while in class, which would slow matters and allow less ground to be covered. We are available from 10 am to 8pm on the phone or e-mail and always delighted to inform and provide more details on each class , the key issue is that customers are happy and satisfied with the class they have attended and that the class meets and exceeds their expectations. James Fletcher: What a waste of time, they make you book an appointment. You turn up, they’re unprepared and uninterested, they give you some spiel about the products. They then ask you for the documents they have requested ahead of the appointment, then tell you “thanks for coming we’ll send you something” and... what a surprise nothing has ever arrived. I admit I forgot about this brand until I saw an ad on Instagram advertising a kitchen to me. But we already chose from another company with much superior service.

Alicia Garrido: The customer service after the purchase of the kitchen is unfortunate, they continually evade all responsibility when it has not turned out well and it is time to solve it. Due to all the problems I have had with them and I detail below, I would not recommend them when buying a kitchen. In my case, they had to come up to three times to finish setting up the kitchen since they had an absolute lack of logistics control when it came to bringing me all the furniture and pieces. The hood, which was installed on their part, did not come well fitted and instead of giving me a solution they allege that it is like that without even coming to assess it. They also didn't fit a door when installing the oven and microwave (we bought them on our own because they are more expensive through them) and they also don't take responsibility for adjusting the spacer on both appliances so the door fits properly.

jferarr10: ITEM USED AND NOT ORIGINAL After purchasing accessories for the Marcato Atlas 150 fresh pasta machine (specifically trenette and mafaldine) I verify that they are NOT original or new products, they are missing parts and prevent their use: - 1. Non-originals: I send photos of the original product box vs. products received. In addition, the originals present the name of the type of pasta they produce (trenette and mafaldine) vs. the non-originals that do not have it screen-printed. See photos with number 1. - 2. Not new: the boxes despite being contained in another larger box with the rest of the products purchased, show obvious damage due to the passage of time and their use. See photos with number 2. -3. Parts are missing: as you can see in the photos, one of them is even missing two screws. See photos with number 3. - 4. María CG: One of the worst investments we have made has been entrusting the assembly of our kitchen to this store. Very informal and unprofessional. Due to the errors they made in the measurement they have had to disassemble the kitchen and reassemble it three times, we have had to constantly call and ask why they did not give us information about when they would come. Despite being their mistakes, they wanted us to assume the cost of the furniture that had to be changed. However, we had to bear the cost of the electrical and plumbing changes resulting from their mistakes. As seen in the photo, they had to move the entire kitchen because the drawers and the oven could not be opened due to errors in the measurement, after having already disassembled the kitchen on one occasion. There has been a result that was not at all what was expected with a gap that should not be there. After claiming they put a laminate that does not even have a cover on the top and those who came to install it scratched the fridge and made stains and scratches on the entrance wall. A disastrous experience. Today, when the kitchen has been installed for a couple of months, we have begun to notice that it has stains and splashes that are not removed by many products that we have tried. In short, I do not recommend them at all for an investment as important as a kitchen.

Gonzalo Aicardi: Unfortunately a bad decision to choose this company. First the kitchen was installed a few days later than planned, then one of the parts broke in the installation and we had to wait 3 weeks for the installation to be completed. And in the end, one of the countertops has been damaged (45 days after installation) and from KVIK, without seeing the countertop on site, they have said that it was due to our splashing and it is not covered by the guarantee. Jorge Lopez Perez: I decided to choose Kvik Principe de Vergara for the kitchen of my dreams, in the renovation of the house inherited from my parents. * THE DISAPPOINTMENT IS INDESCRIBABLE * and not with the quality of the cuisine, but with the service of Kvik Principe de Vergara. The friendliness disappeared when I delivered the deposit for the reservation and at the moment in which, due to the inconsistencies with the delivery times, the Manager of the store Don * CARLOS CARSTEN * intervenes, a person who acts in an inappropriate manner and nothing decisive complicating everything more. Even with a forecast of months in the purchase, we made an order in March, so that the delivery was in mid-May, the expected completion date of the reform, the first delivery was delayed for more than a month with continuous contradictions, in fact the kitchen arrived in three phases, the second delivery a month and a half later and the last one, (some hinges) in September, with which the installation was impossible. Paloma B: We have finished happy with how they have solved the problems that arose. The quality department works well since they contacted us following the review and they have helped us finish with a good taste in our mouths. In the end the whole process has been as long as a pregnancy with premature birth that ends well. The design process was very fast, a priori I was happy. I must say that the quality of the kitchen is good. Even so, I do not recommend the experience to anyone. Our problem was that the entire kitchen space and its elements were not taken into account at the time of design, and the projected electrical appliances (especially the fridge) had larger dimensions than they finally fit. In addition, we were not given the limitations on the height of the induction hob and the scarcity of brands with references with that height (4.5 cm) so we had to return the one we bought (standard 5.5). It is true that brands usually only give the dimensions of width and length. I also recommend reviewing everything carefully since we wanted an extendable faucet with two types of jet and we did not notice that the one they gave us does not have both modes. Initially, when contracting the project, a delivery date was specified and the contract spoke of paying an additional amount in the event that they could not deliver it in that week. In our case, we were carrying out a comprehensive reform that was delayed due to the delay in signing before a notary, and even though we would have paid for a warehouse during that time without problem, we were not given any alternative to "I hope the work is finished on that date ", which forced us to stop the reform, take the workers out for a few days and delay the move-in date and extend the notice of rental of our old house. We have no complaints about the assembly other than that the sink is installed a little under pressure and the drain part does not fit quite well and bits of food slip through. Tip for the oven if you install it yourself: if you see that it is down, simply put some wooden wedges under it and you will save €60 in transport for the technician and installation, this is the way he will solve it. The truth is that everything is minutiae next to the botch of the refrigerator hole, since they left just 60 cm without margin to open the door. By not measuring the space well, we have had to condemn a blind and change hands an access door to the clothesline (we continue with the hole in the wall). They had the detail of sending us to a locksmith to carry out this change of hand, I understand that it is less expensive for them than re-ordering all the furniture with different measurements. The final solution was that they change the fridge we had bought for another (worse) model that did fit since it opened on the same axis. In the end it was a lesser evil and there wasn't much we could do. As it was the beginning of August and their store was closed, they couldn't order it until September. Our surprise came when, after having exchanged messages and emails about it, when the adjustment was made and the difference was returned, we saw that they had charged us both the installation cost and the cost of changing the door's hand (which we had not requested), when we had already incurred those expenses on our own for the first refrigerator we bought. At this point, we decided that we were not going to fight for €65 because we had been dealing with the issue of the fridge, the kitchen for too long, juggling to be home at the hours that they could come and we just wanted to close the issue once and for all. all. Conclusion: very nice kitchen but many headaches and anxiety about issues that should not have been a problem. Good problem solving.

Julien Fortinon: Very very dissatisfied with your service. When it came to selling the product, they were excellent, with the best attention and always available to answer any questions. Now, once the kitchen was paid, when it was their turn to provide service they were null. We were doing an integral work of the house with a company and the day that Schmidt's workers came to assemble the kitchen they introduced themselves saying that the hood was being assembled by workers from our house (that is, we paid Schmidt a hood of almost 2 thousand euros but the workers in my house who do not receive anything or puncture or cut must assemble it, right?) when they are told that they are the ones who should assemble it, they respond by saying this between two (there were two Schmidt assemblers) we cannot do it . I say that then Schmidt must have foreseen that the bell was too big and have sent more than two people. They leave without mounting the hood and I don't receive a single call from Carlota (who had sold us the kitchen) for days, until we call angrily saying that they have left the kitchen half done and they haven't even called us to see the solution to this problem. The kitchen was not set up on time and on multiple occasions they told us they would call us back and they didn't. When they finally call us to organize the assembly of the bell, they tell us that WE MUST PAY WHAT IS CORRESPONDING TO THE GASOLINE OF THE TRIP THEY MUST MAKE AGAIN TO OUR HOME! (we live on the outskirts of madrid). They do not come prepared to mount the bell and on top of that, do we have to pay for the second trip? Obviously, after a great discussion, they told us that it would not be necessary to pay for the gasoline for this trip. Finally, 10 days late, they assembled the entire kitchen for us (I will say that in the meantime they had incorrectly assembled a part of the tap and they also had to solve this problem again). The people from the office of a schmidt arguelles did not contact us and were not available by phone on multiple occasions while these problems were occurring, but they did not hesitate to contact us to ask for photos of the kitchen to upload to their social networks. We did not answer them OBVIOUS. Finally, in the design of the kitchen, they added some electrical outlets to the island, which they decided to put next to the tap... we have had power outages due to the location of these electrical outlets at least 5 times because they get wet with the water that comes out of the faucet. The electrician who has come has had to disable the sockets. I have to say that we have an island of almost two meters (there was enough room to put the shots elsewhere). As "experts" that they are, they should have foreseen this. I don't even want to talk about the amount of thousands of euros that we have spent on this kitchen, it is almost the most expensive part of the house and we are so sorry to have done it with them. The service has been but what if we had done the kitchen with IKEA. We have several friends who have bought houses this year and our only recommendation has been that they do not cook with Schmidt.

Mike Stey: Total disappointment with Mr. Juan Boyero! To this day we still need to change a piece of furniture. If we haven't contacted them, nothing happened. Marta Velasco: Terrible customer service. They have taken 1 month and a half to solve a problem with an important drawer in our kitchen (in which we put the crockery) due to the passivity of the saleswoman Alba. Arantxa Estrada: Second kitchen that I contract with Eggo, since the first one was all perfect. This second one disaster after another, starting with the day of the measurement where they spent more than half an hour and no one came and when I call they tell me that in the end he cannot go that day. The day of the assembly, having warned that it was an undelivered house, without electricity and that they opened us for the assembly, they cannot assemble because the machinery goes to light, they do not have machines with batteries. When they return for the second time to assemble, they assemble almost the entire kitchen except for the dishwasher. The marble worker didn't even talk anymore, he was told when to go and he never went. Come on, I've been working with the kitchen since 9/23/2022 and it's still not complete, the last time the tap I contracted isn't brought, they give me a crappy one and today, according to what they told me, the fitter would come with the contracted tap, neither comes nor knows awaits you. My second experience TOTAL AND ABSOLUTE DISASTER.

Regarding the faucet that has been installed, we know that it is not the one that corresponds to the contract, but the reason is due to the lack of stock of the chosen faucet, so as not to leave the kitchen without service and so that you could use the sink, a temporary faucet has been installed that in the next few days it will be changed for the tap chosen in the contract. Alicia escuela infantil: Well, the truth is that I don't know where to start because the assembly has been a horror. In the store everything seemed perfect but when the date for dismantling the old kitchen and assembling the new one was established, everything got complicated. Only when we called the store did we find out that the assembly date had been changed. They came to measure the countertop and its manufacture was also delayed because the marble worker did not have all the measurements right. Once the countertop was placed, they told us that they would not come to install the sink and oven until 2 days later. I sincerely believe that the assembly organization fails everywhere and for them to listen to you you have to threaten them with complaints to the consumer's office. Honestly, I will never shop at that store again.
