Kate Thomas: I brought my dog from the US to the EU for several months, and decided to get a pet passport for him. I worked with this clinic to sort that out. They are absolutely wonderful to work with. Friendly, efficient, kind, and so helpful later in the trip when my dog wasn't feeling well. The facility is well-organized and very clean. I highly recommend this clinic and would return there again without any hesitation.

Mare: Ive been taking my dog here since she was a puppy and the staff is generous and caring. They have helped with every phase from planning and scheduling her spading (dr hector called the minute she was out of surgery to tell me how everything went), issuing euro passport and completing travel docs to travel to usa (includng directions on completing process w ministry of agriculture), small emergencies, vaccinations, and even small periodic things like getting her nails clipped. I highly recommend bringing your pets here. They have a large staff and are most always available, their hours of operation are 6 days a week all day, prices are affordable. They also have a good selection of food, accessories, and toys. I cannot recommend this place enough for your pets. The one thing i would suggest is that they should have at least one partially english speaking staff member but that is just a minor detail as they are patient with my spanish .

Esther Abeledo: When I adopted my cat I stopped at the first veterinary clinic I found. I was lucky that Malasaña Vet had just opened and Hector answered all my questions. I have been taking my cat there for more than 8 years (with the occasional scare included) and I would not change it for another clinic. Hector, Bea and the entire team are charming and super professional.

I have gone with my 4-month-old puppy to get a vaccine and after 5 visits, the dog is still not vaccinated and on top of that, every time I have gone they have charged me for a different test or service. They are nice, but the service is not good because each time someone different takes care of you and the feeling I leave with as a customer is that they are more to charge for everything than to be effective and really help the dog. Likewise, I have communicated my discontent and no solution has been given to me. I do not recommend it.

Beth Nicholson: I’ve brought my little dog to ChuecaVet however have had a recent bad experience and won’t be returning. My dog suffers from separation anxiety and I initially worked with their behavioural specialist to resolve it. As the treatment wasn’t working, he was also prescribed medication to help with the anxiety. I continued to try the exercises but they weren’t working so was recommended a different qualified dog trainer who had a great deal of experience with separation anxiety. My dog started to make progress and I worked with the trainer for a few months and now continue to train my dog to leave him alone daily. He’s still taking medication which the vet has always been fine with. Today I went to get another prescription for his anxiety medication and the vet told me she couldn’t give me the medication unless I was with their behavioural therapist. I explained her method wasn’t working and it was also bad for my dog to stop the medication all of a sudden. It’s worth noting a few months ago I also offered to put their behavioural therapist in touch with my dog trainer to make sure they were legit and the behavioural therapist didn’t call her. In the end I got my prescription today after arguing for 20 minutes but won’t be returning. The vet was very unhelpful and it was very stressful.

A Duffey: I cannot say enough wonderful things about Maria and her staff. She is always happy to see us, and she is incredibly kind and gentle with our sweet pets Charlie and Ozzy. She works very hard to determine a dx, and she then plans the best course of treatment and goes over all of the information with you before proceeding. Cassandra River: Im an English speaker and my Spanish is so so. But every time I’ve brought my dog here, she is treated with the utmost respect and the workers here have always been so kind and slow in explaining things to me. I have had a better experience here than any vet in the US. Seriously. They worry about your dogs comfort and scaring them. They even asked me if I’d like to go get my dog from her kennel bc she was scared. No vet has ever given me that option. They also allowed me to hold my dog as she was being sedated for her teeth cleaning. Now my dog has a heart murmur and they have given us the best care ever. Can not recommend enough! Mike Mahoney: We just arrived from the US with our dog flying cargo with American Airlines. Everything went very smoothly and there were no issues with the vet check or customs. Communication was great, and with both the US vet and Dr. Nave in Spain we were able to accomplish this task without the need for a pet transport service. Nothing against using them but it was proving difficult our dates were changing due to heat concerns and we wanted our dog to fly on the same flight. AAH/Dr. Nave is highly recommended.

Jose Gonzalez: We boarded our dogs Champ and Ritz at AAH on several occasions, including during a 6 week long summer trip we took to the US while living in Madrid. During the time they spent at AAH, we saw many happy pictures of the boys playing outside. They were both in great health and spirits when we returned to Spain. AAH made boarding easy by picking our dogs up and dropping them back off at our apartment in the city. In addition to boarding, AAH helped with our dogs relocation, when we moved to Madrid and when we returned to the US. The process went smoothly in both directions. And last but not least, AAH provided the routine vet services we need while we lived in Spain. Appointments were easy to book and on time, and our dogs were always well taken care of.

Kim Cullen: They are wonderful with our pets and very gracious always with us. Great location in Pozuelo, though it's not always easy to park. The whole team speaks English. And they have residence options.

Angela Nutt: We used AAH for ground transport of our two large dogs in 2017, and used them again for the entire trip back to the states. Elizabeth speaks english which was a saving grace for me. She was very prompt to reply, communicated clearly about exactly what she needed from me, and kept me updated during my dogs' journey. She gave more than one quote to let me decide the airports to/from and helped me determine the best timing for shipment. In 2017, we arranged the flights for the dogs and this was about the same price as doing it ourselves, only much more convenient. The dogs were picked up at our door (6 hours from Madrid), boarded during their health checks, certified for travel, and dropped off at the door in California. I HIGHLY recommend AAH! Their customer service and professionalism are fantastic and they took very good care of my furry family members!

I have been a client of the clinic before joining The G. Vets Co. and well in care and with reasonable rates (without being cheap). I met them when I moved to the neighborhood. In the same clinic, I had used those same services before and they did not have those costs that are now budgeted and that seem quite out of the ordinary already from the cost of a first consultation without any type of pathology or to assess or treat, just to see the animal and set the future date. Without a doubt, I prefer to return to my previous clinic (in the Salamanca district), given the new policy adopted by this clinic since TheGVC took over. I clarify that the assessment is not about the professionals, I do not know them, I have not met my previous veterinarians. The criticism is about the current rates. I have always had cats and dogs and they have all gone through the vet for everything they have needed, I know what the price range is within normality, it is not my first experience in a veterinary consultation neither in Madrid nor in other provinces.

Luigi Monx: The treatment of this “hospital” is unfortunate. They try to take advantage of the pain to bill as much as possible, for often unnecessary tests, when they do not try, as in our case, to perform risky surgical interventions. What they don't know is that it shows too much. In our case they make a mistake in the diagnosis, they try to sedate a very good dog for free to perform an ultrasound. Finally we resisted their intransigence and the ultrasound was performed with the conscious animal together with its owner without any problem. They alert us to a foreign body in the stomach and urge us to carry out an urgent intervention. Thanks to the fact that we were suspicious and went to ask for a second opinion the next morning, they confirmed that there was no foreign body in the stomach, but a large amount of gas due to a strong stomach infection and the intestines were full of feces. Possibly if they had opened the dog in that situation she would not have survived. In addition to that, they wanted to extract the non-existent foreign body from the mouth as a first option by gastroscopy. Total €320 for a failed diagnosis and for doing nothing.
