Where to sleep in Madrid

Few other cities give as much headache when it comes to choosing where to sleep like Madrid! Being a metropolis of enormous dimensions, it is a bit difficult for the tourist to understand which ones are best areas to stay, the most central, the richest in clubs and shops or the most interesting from a cultural point of view.

The truth is that Madrid enjoys an excellent network of public transport and therefore any area is potentially good to find hotels and lodges: you can sleep outside the center, perhaps taking advantage of cheaper prices and move easily by public transport, or stay in tourist center of the city and move mainly on foot.

On this page we have collected and highlighted the characteristics of each district in order to simplify the choice of best area to sleep in Madrid.
If, on the other hand, you are looking for a list of recommended hotels organized by type (suitable for families, couples, cheap, luxury) visit the page Hotel to Madrid.
